Here’s a tutorial on what I suggest you do immediately after installing WordPress. My tutorials are based on fansites so keep that in mind.
First of all, you should always be using the latest version of WordPress. So if you see a message like this after you install, be sure to click Please update now link.
Click Update Automatically. Since you just installed WordPress, you don’t have to worry about the message that says “Important: before upgrading, please backup your database and files.” You really only have to worry about that if you have started using WordPress. Log into your cpanel & go to the Software section:

I changed the layout on the site, and I also finished the Website Advice page. I’ll also be doing a tutorial on installing WordPress & installing 4Images. Sometime.
I debated whether I should write this, but I really can laugh at myself, so why not.
I woke up at 4 this morning & had to go to the bathroom. I threw the blankets off of myself & was about to get up when I heard a cell phone ring-tone. I froze. Why? Because I turned my ringer off before I went to bed & I didn’t even recognize the ring-tone. It definitely wasn’t mine. I think I stayed there not moving for a full minute, waiting for some sound. Did I imagine it? Was there some stupid thief out in my living room that broke in but forgot to turn off his phone first? I didn’t hear anything.
